Nasir Jones and Damian Marley - Strong Will Continue
This is more than just a big tune, to me this is an anthem, a source of inspiration....in this era of f...kery posing as music, its good to get a blast of realness...something to help you move forward...
I'm Currently Reading...
Actually I'm re-reading it to get a little bit of inspiration, after all its "The Story of Success" and I am trying to be successful, that's the only reason I get out of bed in the morning...chasing the dream, trying to be successful.
PS. Gladwell is not as good as my favourite writer Robert Greene...Just saying...
PPS. Gladwell's mother is from Jamaica and the epilogue of the book is centred around her family history and upbringing on The Rock.

How Is Your Heart? by Charles Bukowski
during my worst times
on the park benches
in the jails
or living with
whores
I always had this certain
contentment-
I wouldn't call it
happiness-
it was more of an inner
balance
that settled for
whatever was occuring
and it helped in the
factories
and when relationships
went wrong
with the
girls.
it helped
through the
wars and the
hangovers
the backalley fights
the
hospitals.
to awaken in a cheap room
in a strange city and
pull up the shade-
this was the craziest kind of
contentment
and to walk across the floor
to an old dresser with a
cracked mirror-
see myself, ugly,
grinning at it all.
what matters most is
how well you
walk through the
fire.
###
No matter what you go thru you have to be positive and realise that there is a light at the end of the tunnel, walk through your valleys with strength and dignity...

Quotable...
"Would you like me to give you a formula for success? It’s quite simple, really. Double your rate of failure. You are thinking of failure as the enemy of success. But it isn’t at all. You can be discouraged by failure or you can learn from it, So go ahead and make mistakes. Make all you can. Because remember that’s where you will find success."

Busy Signal "One More Night" Controversy
If you listen to the song and hear "Gary" that simply means that's what you want to hear, and if you are listening to hear a man say "Gary give me one more night" then that says more about you than the artist.

Clipse (Featuring Pharrell and Kenna) - Life Change
This is like an anthem for me right now, I went thru some things and had to change my life so it hits home..Malice's first verse is uniquely poignant and he references Revelations 3 verse 17.

Another Bed by Charles Bukowski
another bed
another woman
more curtains
another bathroom
another kitchen
other eyes
other hair
other
feet and toes.
everybodys looking.
the eternal search.
you stay in bed
she gets dressed for work
and you wonder what happened
to the last one
and the one after that...
it's all so comfortable-
this love making
this sleeping together
the gentle kindness...
after she leaves you get up and use her
bathroom,
it's all so intimate and strange.
you go back to bed and
sleep another hour.
when you leave its with sadness
but you'll se her again
whether it works or not.
you drive down to the shore and sit
in your car. it's almost noon.
-another bed, other ears, other
ear rings, other mouths, other slippers, other
dresses
colors, doors, phone numbers.
you were once strong enough to live alone.
for a man nearing sixty you should be more
sensible.
you start the car and shift,
thinking, I'll phone Jeanie when I get in,
I haven't seen her since Friday.

Motivation from Jonas Bevacqua
My advice would be to really believe in your idea and really go after it. you can't just sit on a couch and think something is gonna strike you and all of a sudden and you have a company. be willing to put in the time and energy it's gonna take. keep your head down... no matter what people say or who hates on you just do what you gotta do. you have to really believe in what you're doing. there's a lot of talk out there... oh I'm gonna do this, or I'm gonna do that. that's great, now go screen some shirts, go get that account, go stay up for 2 days in a row and ship out product all day. you have to really go after it. have a great mentor like Robert Wright and don't worry about anybody else and just believe in yourself... that's it. oh yeah, remember haters hate because you have what they want, instead of hating you should admire them and use that inspiration as fuel and apply it to your own life.

Totally Random...Five Favourite British Rappers
Cuz we all know that hip-hop is dead, American hip hop that is, I have to listen to different rappers and that means mostly british hip hop and sometimes Reggaeton (go Tego Calderon). These are my favourite in no particular order:
Sway
Sway
Sway's first album, This Is My Demo is a classic in my opinion, it was moving, deep, funny at times and had quaotables for days...honestly if Sway's name was "Drake" and he dropped that album he would be an international superstar...
I got angels on my nokia/
i'm out here and i got no fear/
no foes and no phobias/
so all those plotting with the obeah and voodoo/
there's no hope for ya/
hang yourself, i got rope for ya
Pyrelli
The Lazyboi...crazy flows and punchlines plus Jamaican heritage...he killed on Sway's "Up Your Speed"...and "Caribbean Love" is a mad tune with a mad video...Mad..
Mike Skinner aka The Streets
Probably the most popular, he has good songs like..."Fit But You Know It" and good conceptual albums like A Grand Don't Come For Free...
SAS Eurogang
Idris Elba does not like this group, but I do, they were with Dip Set for a second and they think that they are gangstas...this gang is hilarious...I don't know, its hard for me to feel their gangster cuz they have a British accent, thats not threatening at all...how do you threaten someone with an English accent? Tell them they won't get any sugar with their tea?...i divert...
Lethal Bizzle
and Lethal Bizzle, I could have gone with Kano, or Dizzee Rascal but I say Bizzle, cuz he had the song, "Bizzle, Bizzle" and he re-made "Police on My Back"...
I am a big Tricky fan but he's not a rapper per se so he didnt make the list, sorry Tricky...

Young Jeezy Encapsulates My Feelings...
You just said: “I’m not an in-love- ass nigga.” What do you mean by that statement?
Young Jeezy: I ain’t never been—I’ve been a hustler my whole life, so I was pretty much infatuated with money and success and just staying focused and down, so I ain’t never been the type of nigga that just admires my girlfriend.
But you got romance in your life.
Young Jeezy: Yeah, but they ask me what my love life is like, I tell them simple: I love life. [Laughs.] You know what I’m saying? That’s it. I’ma do me, but I ain’t never been the type of person out at the movies and holding hands and riding around listening to R. Kelly, you know what I’m saying?
And that shit’ll never happen for you.
Young Jeezy: l mean, I can’t say that—but shit, not right now! Gotta keep my eyes on the prize!
Why is that?
Young Jeezy: ’Cause I’m still focused. Don’t get me wrong, I ain’t gonna sit here and act like I ain’t got some things going on, but that ain’t never been my get-up. Anybody that I ever dealt with knows that I’m a very focused individual, and when it comes to my work and what I do, you might have to play the back burner to that.
To me its about focus and prioritising...basically...

WITHOUT DOUBT, PRINCES BECOME GREAT WHEN THEY OVERCOME DIFFICULTIES AND HURDLES PUT IN THEIR PATH. WHEN FORTUNE WANTS TO ADVANCE A NEW PRINCE ... SHE CREATES ENEMIES FOR HIM, MAKING THEM LAUNCH CAMPAIGNS AGAINST HIM SO THAT HE IS COMPELLED TO OVERCOME THEM AND CLIMB HIGHER ON THE LADDER THAT THEY HAVE BROUGHT HIM. THEREFORE, MANY JUDGE THAT A WISE PRINCE MUST SKILLFULLY FAN SOME ENMITY WHENEVER THE OPPORTUNITY ARISES, SO THAT IN CRUSHING IT HE WILL INCREASE HIS STANDING.
– Niccolò Machiavelli
I love this quote, from one of my favourite books, The Prince...it teaches that we should embrace all challenges, every challenge is an opportunity to transcend and become better. Stop crying about challenges and talk bout how life hard, take it as an opportunity.

Quotable...
IN NOOKS ALL OVER THE EARTH SIT MEN WHO ARE WAITING, SCARCELY KNOWING IN WHAT WAY THEY ARE WAITING, MUCH LESS THAT THEY ARE WAITING IN VAIN. OCCASIONALLY THE CALL THAT AWAKENS—THAT ACCIDENT WHICH GIVES THE “PERMISSION” TO ACT—COMES TOO LATE, WHEN THE BEST YOUTH AND STRENGTH FOR ACTION HAS ALREADY BEEN USED UP BY SITTING STILL; AND MANY HAVE FOUND TO THEIR HORROR WHEN THEY “LEAPED UP” THAT THEIR LIMBS HAD GONE TO SLEEP AND THEIR SPIRIT HAD BECOME TOO HEAVY. “IT IS TOO LATE,” THEY SAID TO THEMSELVES, HAVING LOST THEIR FAITH IN THEMSELVES AND HENCEFORTH FOREVER USELESS.
